Cronas is an African nation allied with (but not a member of) the IU. It is a Republic lead by Durra Akelsh. It is known for having both urbanized and very rural areas. Its people are know to be very dedicated to protecting the earth and nature. The nation is 590 square miles in total.

The Cronan Government is run by the Prime Minister in conjunction with the Central Board. The Central Board is made up of 3 members, a representative of Urban Peoples, a representative of Rural Peoples and a representative of the Cronan Ecological Committee. These 3 members meet with the Prime Minister once every 2 weeks to discuss issues, laws and international relations, however the Prime Minister can call an assembly at any time. All major decisions are put up to a vote where each of the representatives may each cast 2 votes based on the votes of the citizens in their jurisdiction. The Prime Minister is given 4, 3 to be cast to represent the rest of the Cronan Government and a 4th to be cast for the Prime Minister's own vote. A decision is passed if at least 70% of the assembly vote yes. The Cronan Government provides citizens with housing and healthcare and requires companies and individuals to get government approval before purchasing any land. The citizens of Cronas live under a semi-Capitalist system, where the purchase and sale of certain things (especially land) is restricted by the government but sale of domestic goods is mostly unrestricted. Large companies are natriously difficult to establish in Cronas.

Cronan Army unit division

The Cronan Army is made up of 520,000 soldiers and consists mostly of infantry with a small number of specialized armored vehicles. The Cronan Military uses a troop division system similar to the Gezan Army. Troops are Assault, Support, Medic, Scout, Anti-Tank or Spear units. Cronan Anti-Tank units (called Guters) are known for using no anti-tank weapons and instead entering enemy tanks and killing the crew in melee combat.

Air Force

The Cronan Air Force does not exist.

The Cronan Navy is very small and consists mostly of transport ships and patrol boats.

Cronan culture is heavily influenced by various African cultures. Many Cronan tribes carry their own unique culture, however some elements of culture are universally to Cronas.

Urban citizens of Cronas often wear modern, simplified variations of traditional clothing (somewhat similar to modern Senegalese clothing.) Some Cronans also wear work clothes similar to Gezan work clothes. Many rural tribes wear traditional clothing, jewelry and head dresses.

Cronan citizens are known to value to earth above all else. Respect of the environment and ecosystem is expected and many Cronans refer to earth as "mother." This respect of the earth is present in many indigenous beliefs and has been integrated into other religions in Cronas. Many Cronans (especially those in rural areas) play to the earth as apposed to a god. Cronans and the Croanan Government also highly value dedication to family and friends. This leads the Cronan Government to eagerly aiding its allies (especially the IU) in military conflicts and during times of economic recession (despite Cronas being a fairly poor country.)

A large variety of indigenous tribes populate western Cronas. Many of them are thought to have come to Cronas between the years of 1400 and 1700 on their own accord or on slave ships.

The Dukka people populate 3 small villages in central west Cronas. They are well known for the their skill in making swords and knives. Every full moon the Dukka people celebrate The Lunar Passing, a festival where traditional masks are worn and a large bowl of rice is shared among the entire village.

The Oaa people inhabit 1 village near the south west shore of Cronas. They are known for their hospitality and peaceful ways. Visitors are often given gifts and invited to stay as long as they want. An MDK traveler once stayed with the tribe for 2 months, though he originally planned to visit for only a day. He returned to MDK with 4 ounces of solid gold coins (worth almost $5000) as well as a traditional Oaan head dress, all of which were gifts.

The Bruukuadewakka people inhabit 2 villages in north west Cronas with some of the population living in urban areas. the Bruukuadewakka tribe is known for its gunsmithing, often producing their own copies of already existing firearms. Gunsmiths from this tribe are often contracted by the Cronan Military to design weapons.

The Cronan War of Independence

The Cronan War of Independence began in 1899 and lasted until 1902. The war began when British and American slave ships arrived on the west coast of Cronas in late 1899 to occupy the nation, retrieve former slaves and possibly capture new slaves. 210 British and American troops and salve owners disembarked from their ships onto the shore, expecting little resistance. However, a Cronan militia of 3400 men (armed with spears, swords, bows and captured Martini-Henry rifles) met them and drove them off the shore, killing 88 of them in the process. 3 British and 2 American war ships arrived later in early 1900 to force the Cronan peoples to comply. However, after 2 of the ships were boarded by Cronan troops from rafts the small fleet retreated. Finally, in early 1902, 5000 British and American troops landed on Cronas in an attempt to occupy the island. After only 3 months of fighting Cronan guerrilla groups, the British and American troops abandoned the invasion and never returned.

The Cronan flag is officially called Green Mamma. Its symbols are as follows.
Red: The blood of those who fought for independence
Gold: Spiritual wealth
Green: Earth

The Cronan mainland consists mostly of grasslands and some wetlands. A small, freshwater river known as the Apoan River (nicknamed the Vein of Cronas) runs from the the mountains in north Cronas down to the Iok Lake near the south shore of Croans. The dense Jokomil Forest covers 340 square miles of central Cronas and is home to a wide variety of species. There are 4 species that are unique to Cronas, the Cronan Devil Wing (Pteropus Cronagenus), the Oaan Flower Bat (Ectophylla Flosger), the Massel Leaf Butterfly (Danaus Cronagenus) and the Bararra Python (Morelia Vespertiliocida). Western Cronas is very rural and is comprised of mostly villages with only 2 small towns and a single small city. In contrast, eastern Cronas is more urban and is made up of 7 cities and a number of small towns as well as the only paved roads in Cronas.
